Hello lovelies, this mediterranean avocado dip with olives and basil is our favorite on every savory snack platter. It's stirred together in about 10 minutes, with no cooking, and tastes great with veggie sticks, crackers or simply on bread.

The base is a nicely ripe avocado that you mash with a fork. Add finely chopped tomato and olives, a squeeze of lemon, finely diced shallot and fresh basil. The dip was so tasty and quick to make – and I have to say I don't even really like olives, but this combination was totally good!

If you're in a Mediterranean mood, whip up my mediterranean guacamole with feta and olives – creamy avocado meets feta, olives and sun-dried tomatoes. And avocado works sweet, too: I blend ripe avocados, strawberries and yogurt into a fruity strawberry guacamole dessert dip.
This recipe is part of Summer food: Sweet and savory snack platters, where you will also find the quick sweet coconut dip and plenty of ideas for colorful snack platters.

Love, Verena
