Hello lovelies, finally summer! We are very happy because there is nothing better than spending a lot of time outside with the family. And today I have the perfect meal idea for you: summer food: sweet and savory snack platters. Because what a perfect summer day for me is NOT: spending hours in the kitchen. In summer and when it's warm, we like it easy. And these snack plates are just perfect, whether for a snack, as an appetizer, dessert or for a picnic by the lake. Everyone can resort it and find something delicious according to their taste.
But one thing is important to me: high-quality organic ingredients. Therefore I'm pleased to present you tips for these delicious sweet and savory snack plates in cooperation with Migros Bio/Alnatura Switzerland*. And of course there are also 2 simple dip recipes - one sweet and one savory - both super fine!
Organic ingredients
Why organic ingredients are important to me? Organic food comes from organic farming, genetic modification is forbidden. And above all, it's grown without the use of chemical-synthetic pesticides, artificial fertilizers or sewage sludge. Alnatura also prefers ingredients according to the guidelines of Bioland, Demeter and Naturland. Migros Bio also stands for the promotion of natural life and nutrient cycles and the promotion of the natural defenses of plants and animals. In addition, organic agriculture places great emphasis on biodiversity.
I therefore serve our snack platters with organic fruit and vegetables and we find that this doesn't only taste better, but we also take care of our health and nature.
Tips for your snack platters
We all know food is also a treat for the eye and we find it very nice when the platters are colorful and appealing, so we enjoy them even more. Therefore you definitely need a lot of fresh and seasonal fruits and vegetables. Now in summer, of course, all the delicious berries and stone fruits such as apricots, peaches and nectarines are available for the sweet platter. In addition, all types of melons.
The savory snack platters consist mostly of vegetables that can be dipped well - cut directly into bite-size pieces.
Sweet snack platter
In addition to the fresh fruits, I served the sweet platter with various snacks, bars and of course a suitable dip. Dried fruits and nut mixes, such as the new Alnatura nut fruit mix, are a great addition. We also had the oat bar and the one with cashew caramel. I cut them into small pieces so everyone can try everything without having to eat a whole bar straight away.
There is also a quick and delicious sweet dip for the fruits, here is the recipe:
**Coconut dip **
2 Tbsp coconut-almond-creme from Alnatura
2 Tbsp plant-based yoghurt (e.g. coconut from Alnatura)
1 tsp coconut flakes
Mix the coconut-almond-creme with yoghurt and coconut flakes and serve it.
Watermelon is a must for us in summer and rice waffles are always popular - of course the ones with chocolate are preferred. Cut the fruits open so that they're ready to be eaten. It's appealing for the eye if you don't cut them all the same way, but arrange different pieces and shapes on the snack platter. You can serve the nuts & dip in small bowls.
This is how you quickly have a nice & light summer dessert prepared easily. Or you can put everything in a baking dish and take it to a picnic by the lake!

Savory snack platter
In addition to the vegetables for the salty snack platter, crackers, corn waffles and tortilla chips are also suitable for dipping. There are no limits to your imagination and we especially like the beetroot crackers and tortillas from Alnatura. In addition, nuts shouldn't be missing here, preferably a lightly salted version. Olives are always very popular, the new ones with herbs from Alnatura were very well received, we can definitely recommend them. We also tried the new vegan sausages and 3 out of 4 people really liked them. They tasted both warm and cold - ideal for a snack platter.

For all these delicious snacks you definitely need a dip, of course. In addition to the jarred hummus from Alnatura, I decided to go for a Mediterranean avocado dip with olives and basil.
