Review policy
Who can rate and comment
Any visitor can rate a recipe or leave a comment. No account is needed.
Whether we verify authenticity
No. We do not check whether a person has actually cooked or eaten the recipe, and we do not verify the identity of the person leaving the rating. Our recipes are freely accessible, so there is no purchase we could match a rating against. Ratings on this website are unverified reader opinions.
What we do anyway
- One vote per browser. Each rating is tied to a locally stored marker so that the same browser cannot rate a recipe more than once.
- Automated submissions are caught by a bot check.
- The number of submissions per IP address is limited over time.
These measures make abuse harder. They are not a verification of authenticity.
How we handle comments
Comments are reviewed before they are published. We do not publish a comment if it contains advertising, spam, insults, unlawful content or topics unrelated to the post. We never hold back a comment because it is critical or negative. Critical feedback is published. Star ratings are not moderated and not filtered.
Older ratings
Some of the averages include ratings that were submitted before the relaunch of this website and carried over as a total. The same applies to these ratings: they were not checked for authenticity.
What we do not do
We do not buy, commission or invent ratings. We do not offer anything in return for a rating, neither money nor discounts nor products. We do not delete ratings because we do not like them.
Reporting a review
If a rating or a comment looks fake or inappropriate to you, write to us.
