I'm Verena — so glad you found us. This is where our family's life in Bali becomes something you can cook, see, and savor: vibrant plant-forward recipes, slow island mornings, and stories from our travels across Southeast Asia. Around here, we collect moments, not things — so pull up a chair and stay a while.

About Freistyle
Hi, I'm Verena — cookbook author, food photographer, and mama of two. A few years ago we swapped grey Swiss winters for life in Bali, and somewhere between the rice fields and the morning markets, I fell in love with cooking all over again.
Freistyle is my seasonal, plant-forward kitchen — built around plants, colour and big flavour, and always made to feel like home. There'll always be plenty of vegan recipes here, and these days a little more room at the table too, however you like to eat. Real food, real island life, and dishes you'll actually want to cook — wherever you are right now.
