Chocolate overnight oats

Prep: 10 minTotal: 10 minServings: 3 servings

Ingredients

  • 400 ml plantbased milk (e.g. oat, soy)
  • 150 g oats
  • 2 tsp date syrup or sugar
  • 2 tsp chia seeds
  • 2 tsp cacao
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • Prise cardamom (optional)
  • resh figs, berries, date syrup, coconut yogurt

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients in a small bowl and place in the fridge overnight - mix again the next morning, fill into glasses and serve with toppings of your choice
  2. For the fig compote, peel the figs and heat them gently in a small saucepan

Notes

Tip from my kitchen: a ratio of about 150 g oats to 400 ml plant milk makes the oats nicely creamy - if you like them looser, just stir in a splash more plant milk in the morning. I let them soak overnight (6–8 hours), or at least 2–3 hours. In a sealed jar they keep for 2–3 days in the fridge, which makes them great for prepping ahead. Vary the toppings however you like: fresh figs, berries, banana, date syrup, coconut yogurt or a spoon of nut butter all pair wonderfully with the chocolate.
